Paragraph Writing Sample 17- What are the pros and cons* of living in a big city?

The people who live in a large city can experience some benefits and some difficulties in their daily life. Firstly, when people live in a large city they have several advantages. They are protected by the government in large cities. It is a big advantage for citizens. It is not easy to provide an effective security system in villages so villagers must protect themselves. For example, it is easier to catch criminals in big cities thanks to surveillance cameras in the streets. However, if a person kills someone in a village it is hard to find and arrest the criminal. Thus if people want to protect themselves and their family, they should live in a big city. On the other hand, living in a large city has some disadvantages. It is hard to live in a large city which is expensive. People have to pay money for vegetable and fruits. However, in villages, people can grow their own food so they can live easily. In addition, large cities have too much noise pollution. Large cities are really crowded so it causes too much noise. For example, when students have exams they can’t focus on their exam because of the noise which comes from crowded streets. To sum up, if people want to live in a large city they should consider these advantages and disadvantages.
